A Comment from Tony, one of our Members:

Life seems busier than ever these days.  Some members value the discipline of regular attendance (because it forces them to put some hours into their hobby).  It is important to emphasis that we are set up to cater for others that may just want to come along when they are starting (or finishing) a piece or most importantly, when they might run into problems along the way.  You will always find friendly, like-minded carvers who are very willing to give you a hand or to offer advice.

We can quickly forget the immense satisfaction attached to a sharp gouge singing through a piece of close grained timber.  If you haven’t touched a tool for a while, bundle everything up and come along one night/day just to see if that old spark may still be there.  Nobody has ever died wishing that they spent less time on their hobby.
